WHy not sleeve it? I read that that is cheaper.

I hear nothing but bad things about sleeves. The ones that have worked for years are the ones that were done right. I dont know about you, but I dont trust any shop to do it right, its a very delecate process to get the sleeve to seat in the jug. Its when your out riding with ah huge smile on your face and your engine finally gets HOT then all hell breaks loose and the sleeve finds a few thousands to drop or shift and you get a blown head gasket. I would say if you find someone with a great history running a sleeve and still is! Ask who did the work, not where it was done.........but WHO did it.

Good to know. I've read that the real advantage to the big bores is how much earlier in the rev range they make power. They make a few more top end horsepower but that they make way more power at 5000 rpm and under. Is that consistent with what you have heard?
