Default Who has installed a 730 kit themselfs

I am about to order the 730 kit from HPR and do the project myself and was wondering how hard it was to do. I have never had the engine out or torn down before - any tricks I should know about !!!

I am also going to replace the shift forks in the tranny - got the instructions from Eagle Collector (Thanks Larry)
Does anybody have any tips for doing this repair ???

Thanks for the Help guys

I have done nearly all the work on mine. The 730 kit is pretty easy to install. The instructions are top notch. The hardest part was getting all the motor mount bolts out. Take your time, mark everything! Be sure to double and triple check your work. Dont forget to get a crank locating pin. and an inch pound torqe wrench. Ive been through it a couple times now If you need some help PM me and I will give you my number.

How much did you pay for the 730 kit and what did in come with just the cylinder and piston or headwork too ?
I am thinking about a big bore.
Thanks.

I am planning to pull mine because I am also replacing my transmission shift forks.
Also thinking in the last few days if the motor is out might as well go the rest of the way and powder coat the frame too.

Locking the piston at TDC to set cam timing? Must be nice, we don't have that option on a twin.
