Default 450R Carb??

I replied to an older thread about using the TRX450R carb on the DS...being an older thread, not much response was given. Or was not much response given due to the fact that maybe its not a good, inexpensive (vs TM's and Lectron's) alternative to the stock carb. Anyone running this carb? I hear alot of Predator guys seem to have alot of good to say about this mod. Anyone running this carb on a DS?

I don't like to repeat threads..but here we go..

I will have one available as soon as the Dune season is over (After Memorial Day).

We will be putting a 44mm Lectron on my son's R.

Will the standard DS intake manifold work with perhaps some ringed porting (for turbulence)?

I noticed in 2006 TRX450r's went to Keinin 40mm FSC w/TPS.

Default 450R Carb??

Thanks atvaddict01,

No I don't want a fsc. They are too restrictive on street bikes and I might run up on the back of a car too easily.
The 450r carb seems perfect not being cv, fsc, or efi. They seem to have problems in one way or another.

The motorcycle industry don't want a decent carb alternative it seems.
With a AL cylinder and forged piston like ERBE's got ($550 total+tax/ship), I wonder if 450r will handle that power or will he have to bore it out?
Honda vendors should have something I would think to enhance it (?).
And maybe this technology carb will allow component changes to handle everything you would want.

Thanks!!

From reading other posts unless it can be bored out.I dont think it
will have what a 720-730 will need.My main decision on this carb is
price. For the majority of my riding it will be perfect. If i was near the
big dunes i would probably go with a bigger carb.
