i was wondering which k@n to run the direct carb bolt on or the one that goes in the air box i do alot of desert riding rarely go in any water, is there any hp differnce when rinning the stock carb

 

ds 702 , you seem to be a ne-be on here, what is the 702, are you running a 702cc motor? Fill us in.

I would keep the snorkel tube on the filter, direct mount will hamper perforance.

 

alright no the 702 is just the area code i live in i couldnt come up with anything else so i used that

keep your airbox and put the k&n in it, you'll be fine.

 

XR650 the direct mount works fine on the TM. The tub gives a little more torque early but the direct gives more peak and holds it longer than the tub when jetted correctly.

I don't think the Lectron likes the direct mount.

For the stock carb, he needs to read the thread from Oldman racing. He does more stock carb mods and tricks than most.

Whats the P/N#from K@N for the TM clamp on?? or has any one made a stainless or aluminum mounting clamp for using the stock snorkle and K@N filter?

FOUND IT!!! Clamp On K@N Filter

 

you can use a K&N filter #SN-2560.
It is 1" longer than the #SN-2550 (this is the on Woods sells.)

The 2560 fits as a direct mount on my TM-48 (or TM-45)

In not sure if it will fit on a stock carb or not.

You can get it directly from K&N for under $50.00

 

Ive got a brand new never used 2550 in the box. PM me if you need it.
