what do you think of my $200 rolling chassis? LOL, no kidding! the guy who bought this bike new rolled it on its second time out and broke the oil line fitting off of the oil bag which pumped all the oil out of it before he got it shut off. he then replaced the fitting and refilled it with oil but didnt bleed the now dry system .he rode it about 2 minutes before the rod started knocking. it has been parked in a shed since 01 and I bought it for $1700 and sold $1500 in parts that I didnt need on ebay . my total now in everything I did keep is $200. I am installing a brand ,new never fired ,05 hayabusa motor with Mr turbo kit. I installed an ace fabrication +10 swing arm and had it sent to me using thicker tubing than they use standard on there arms and also ordered it with no rear shock mount as I will be setting up my own ride height and shock placement. almost ready to tear down and finish up welds and send off for powder. I could sure use some ideas on a frame color. I would like something that is bright and would go with the yellow plastic. anyone have any pics of wild frame colors on a DS? thanks!click here for a pic of my new project pic 2 pic 3

Are you the guy that put about 53 pages of misc DS650 parts up for sale on ebay? That will be a really nice conversion...........I can tell.

you have to make room on the top bottom and front. the entire stock radiator support area is removed in the front. you basicly have to shop the whole middle out of the bike and rebuild the frame around the motor. anyone know who beefs up stock DS shocks? heavier springs? revalving? thanks

wellI dont know about 53 pages of parts but see my pics area of my page . I have parted a few. anyone know how to reduce the size of pics I have stored in "my documents"? have more photos of other machines I built that I would like to post but it seems they are to large? and yes the swing arm is a chromolly +10 from ace fabrication. they build beautiful stuff, wish I could tig weld as nice as they do

I think you guys know that my son bought Jeffroe's Busa DS. Great bike but he wasn't satisfied. It is at Heads up racing in Vegas. They have installed a 'two stage' turbo system on it and an electric shift setup like the drag bikes. First dyno run on knobbies was 290 rear wheel hp on stage 1 (7 lbs boost). The tires wouldn't hold anymore. The second stage of the turbo is 16 lbs. Now they are talking about a prototype drag frame just for the Busa motors. All in at about 300 lbs. I am glad he is riding it, not me. Looks like a nice conversion you have. Good luck and see you on the sand.

well I guess then your son bought gabes old ds/busa. your son bought it from a guy in new york I believe ? actually he bought in on ebay for $10k from a guy in new york? the guy in new york bought it from gabe in Grass valley CA for 15k. I know gabe well and have been riding with him for 15 years. before he built that bike he rode one of mine and then came down and measured every inch of it. I have riden your sons bike. black/ silver hammertone frame, billet knurled aluminum footpegs, aluminum tank in the rear, a copy of one of my earlier bikes. ran good. your son contacted me a couple months ago about maybe purchasing a turbo kit from me. you might mention to your son that he go ahead and spring for the heavy duty output shaft and that he also have the bigger snap rings installed throughout his tranny as when it does go(which it will soon once its run hard in sand) it will shift into 2 gears at the same time and grenade. an ounce of prevention will save you 5 pounds of rebuild.
