I just never lined up with scooby and Gary, this is why I asked Gary to flag.

Hey Wayne, Chirs, Bombsaint.. I tried to visit you guys but they would not allow us in. I was bringing some wine coolers to end the night but again they would not let us past the gate. I gave all your last names but he said he didn't have anyone in there by those names. Just thought I'd mention that. Next year for sure. Maybe will be a bigger event. Now to remove them shocks and send them back to Gary.

BTW Anyone get sunburned really bad? I have a natural light tan and despite my golden skin color my face looks like something out of Madam Tussauds Wax Museum. That sun was defintely scorching there.

yea i got some sun. no burn though.

Russ.....how is your friends sunburns doing?? He was looking like a lobster!

I tried to get in to what I thought was the camp grounds where everyone was there, and the guy asked me for a voucher. I didn't have one and told me I couldn't come in. O-well....still had a good time. Can't wait for next year.

Had a great time this weekend. Finally got to put some faces to the names. It sure was hot inland, but the beach was great all weekend.

Jmann, you sure did get a sweet deal on that DS, it looks fantastic. Hope your friend is ok!! Too much aluminum bumper in your diet is bad for the teeth. (I will let Josh tell that story).

Maybe next time we can all get together on the camping arrangements. Would have been great to shoot the bull around the fire.

Hopefully get to meet up with you guys again this summer, wether its in Silver Lake or Oklahoma, or just the badlands. By the way, I should be taking my son to the Badlands within the next week or so.

Later,

Gary

Yeh, my buddy dan had about the worst weekend ever. His second trip around the dunes he was wheelying down the hill before finish, hit the grab bar and jammed the rear brake causing his bike to slam forward and he went over the bars. Pretty sure his helmet hit the front bumper first pushing it up then his teeth hit the bumper: PIC

He bit through his bottom lip and pushed two of his teeth up in his gums. After a stint in the ER on Saturday he was back out on the dunes Sunday drag racing and all. BUT he ended the day when a dirtbike pulled out in front of him while he was doing 4th gear pinned. No one was hurt but his front bumper is imbedded in his frame now. I felt really bad for him.

Next year we should do spring or fall, not as busy, not as hot and not as tore up. Wish I could make it out west for DS Days and meet you guys but I don't think my big trips are going to coincide. We are hitting Little Sahara in October, St. Anthonies next June and hopefully Glamis for Thanksgiving. I will post the dates when they get closer and maybe some of us can hook up.

The guy that ran the hotel I stayed at told me the prices drop after the season which is sep. 4th The dunes close up around oct. That would be a good time frame for next year so it is not so expensive!! And I am sure it won't be so hot either!!

Whenever I go I always stay in the hotel. It's more money than campgrounds but worth it. After a long hot day of riding I need to shower & chill in the AC before going out to dinner. I know I sound like a woman but the first time I went it was with the ex & once you chill in the hottub after a day of riding I can't not do that again!

rfwill (Russ) kept telling me to just camp with him & Cliff. I said, "It will be hot!" He just kept saying, "not with clothes on!"
