Default Lectron 44 .. Help asap

After totally destroying my stock carb(trying to dremel out the stripped air screw) i have decided to go ahead and get the lectron 44. Now, is it a plug and play unit?. Mr hp tunes it before it comes but, i have a local shop that can get it for cheap from a vendor. How hard will tuning be? Also, i know that they "say" i need a new throttle cable and thumb throttle, is this so?, or is there some way i can use the stock stuff. Please help, i am trying to figure all this out and get it ordered so i can run it this weekend.

Your best bet at getting it right is to get it form HPR, they have done all the homework and know what will and will not work. Damn nice guys to deal with as well, ask for Randall, he's on top of his game!

I've done quite a bit of work/tuning on a two 44's now. I think that if you give HPR a call and give them your elevation, your motor setup (intake, exhaust, cams etc. etc.)They'll be able to get it within a turn or two. Remember that you'll need to get a cable and throttle with the kit. I haven't got a stock throttle to work with a lectron yet. Just not enough throw.

Good Luck.

Don't mean to step on any toes here but I initially got my Lectron 44 from fastbygast and it wasn't even in the ballpark, I ended up selling it here on the forum and getting a Mikuni 45. Later down the road I had HPR do my Lectron 48HV and life is good. Again this was just my experience and it was back in like '02, perhaps things have changed?
