BRP did make a 2wd Outlander 800. It was a race quad for the Baha a few months back. I had herd it was clocked at over 90 MPH.

lilnotts, is right . Everything I have herd about that 800 motor was that it was the derived from the sled motors and there is a 800cc, 1000cc and a 1288cc version of it in the sleds right now. It would not be hard for them to come up with a 1000cc version. I think the hardest part would be keeping it cool in desert climates where allot of fokes ride there quads.

Just because there are a few states that have a rule about this required item or the other does not mean they won't sell a ton of them. Just look at the Rhino, Yamaha has a major hit on there hands with the rhino and because of its physical size there are allot of trail systems that do not allow them. That has not kept them from selling them as fast as they can get them built.

I look forward to it to say the least.

I have been trying to get info on where to buy the bigger heads for months now. If they make one needless to say I will have one.

Nope, the 800cc, 1000, and 1300 rotax are motor bike motors NOT sled motors. for 2007 Ski Doo will add the 800cc to the Freestyle snomachine.
But BRP is crazy they ALWAYS have the biggest motor in every sport. I.E.
Quads 800cc 62hp's (fastest Stock Quad on the planet)
Ski Doo's 1000cc 173hps' (fastest Stock snomobile in the world)
Sea Doo watercraft 1500cc Supercharged 215hps' (Fastest stock personal watercraft in the world)
Sea Doo Jet Boats twin 1500 Superchages 430 hp's in a 20 foot boat (fastest Stock jet boat in the world)
Funny thing after having the biggest baddest fasted motor have propeled BRP in the NO#1. in market share in EVERY catagory except for 4Wheelers (witch shouln't be long)
They came out and killed Polaris in Snomobile for #1 with the REV
The came out and killes Kawasaki for #1 with the Sea-doo
Now there after #1 with the Outlander.........It will happen

I am not sure why you think it is a motorcycle engine, but I have to disagree with you since all the research I have done on the engine indicates that the motor derived from the 1000cc sled motor that was released in 2001. Its funny you mention the 800cc 2007 sled using the quads motor, but what you don't know is that same sled for what ever reason was a 1000cc 80degree twin up until the 07's and the exact same 800cc version they are touting as an 07' and mention using the same motor as the quad has in fact been available in the european market since 2004 models were released in 2003. I have been following every scrap of info available on these new quads since a full year before they were officialy released. If you have some info that shows the 80 degree twin came from a motorcycle first please share it. I am not trying to pick a fight or anything I just have spent many hours researching the motor and its history and if there is a flaw in my research i would realy like to know about it.

cc1999, I respect all yours posts but your DEAD wrong, the 1000cc motor in the Mach Z 1000SDI is a 2 STROKE. And the BIG news for 2007 is that Ski Doo will put the V800 in the Legend. This is the FIRST time EVER Ski doo will put a 4 Stroke in a Ski Doo.

HERE IS A LINK TO THE SKI DOO LINE OF MOTORS

Didn't Ski-Doo have a V1000 4 stroke in Legends & Grand Tourings in the zx platform, around '03 or '04? I agree the Mach engine is a 2 stroke, and I think the new 800R sled engine is based off of this 2 stroke.

Sorry those links are not working the way the should be so here is some the info I copied from another thread I started a few weeks ago.

It is based off of this 1000cc 80* V-twin from the sleds

The motor as I understand it came from the sleds and not the motorcyle as some might think. The motor cycle Rotax is a 60* twin not an 80* twin like the sled and atv's use. There is three versions of this motor as I understand it, bening used in sleds both domestic and in europe.

Under both the BRP brand name and the Linx brand of BRP there is the original 995.9cc ,then the 800cc and the 1288cc versions of the Rotax 80* v-twin.

Here is a link to the LINX Yeti 1288cc powered sled.

Yeah your right i'm sorry, that motor was a DOG in a sled. considering the Yamaha Rx1 1000cc was putting out 150hps (the R1 bike motor)
V1000 81hp's

The Motocycle engine I was thinking about is This ONE used in Aprilia Bikes putting out 140 hp's
