Default intermittent speedo

2005 Traxter 500 5 SP I have a speedo that goes on and off at times. Might work good for a few days and then starts acting up. Runs good but gets aggravating. Any ideas

Do you have a factory installed warn winch. If so you may have the same diode issue that my 800 xt has

The Traxters didn't have the winch problem like the 800 does. I have replaced a few Traxter speedos and one speed sensor. My guess is you need a new speedo, but w/out diagnosing I can't say for sure.

In addition to speedo problems, when it fails to light up, I also can't start in gear with brake depressed like normal and stop lite will not work
