clutch slip with new tires

Hi im new here and i just put on a set of 22' mud lites well worked great with the minor mod's i have the first couple of rides. But yesterday i was out draging some freinds and in 5th gear the clutch would slip. So my question is could i put in 60% heavier clutch springs and solve this cause i don't really want to spend a hundred and seventy dollars on a clutch kit.

If you're clutch is already slipping you may have already glazed the steels. 60% springs will definetly help a good stock clutch but you may want to look into a new one since its already slipping.

OMR, that's pretty slick. These clutches are pretty high, so that will come in handy.
What is your take on clutch springs? Do you have a preference on spring tension? I'm not sure about what the measures are since no one
says foot pounds, psi, etc... F650 riders (1/2" thinner clutch basket - one plate less) have had problems with the Pami 80% springs breaking other stock components. Seen some digital pictures on this site too with cracked clutch basket ($380), and transmission problems. Its hard to say what causes what, but I try to eliminate causes. There is significant engineering in changing oem components safely.
I did an assembly stack analysis and the 9 plate barnett kit, and 8 plates could add one on mine (7 stock), but the total disc stack warpage variance of .15 mm(!), was reduced by a third theoretically. So if it didn't wear faster than it warped, it may break something too.

On the 2000 and 2001 I have used the 40% springs from RW.
On my sons 2005 we are using the 60% from HPR.
All are used with oem clutch.
The 01 is still on the original clutch.
Maintain the disc every 2 years, good oil, lube your clutch cable often, and run a balance tire/gear ratio for your driving useages.
If you trail with 22" tires and 16 tooth front sprocket, do not do alot of dragging unless you are in very loose dirt or sand. Install a 14T when you are on tight trails or dragging.
Size of rear tire and gearing have big effect on clutch wear. The people who have trouble with the stock clutch with heavier springs usually also have trouble with aftermarket clutches.
