Well all be damned. Your selling your raptor? Why are you selling your raptor? Anyways, if a polaris Sport400l has trouble getting threw the trees then the Ds will have no chance at all. The Ds has good wood's torque and power. Its just you need to think alittle more with such a wide machine. I know I might get some greef about this but i think that the raptor that you own now would be a better "tight" trail machine. Its got the same amount of power and its narrow so it will fit between the woods. IF the trail is wide enough for the Ds, thne it is great. you can go fast and the suspension soaks up everything in its path. It also handles quick, which everyone know's is good in the woods. Yeah the magazines say that the ds is "darty" but it tends to lose most of that Dartyness when on hardpack dirt.
maybe i'm wrong just my opinion..

if the 400 can barely fit thru the trees you dont really expect the Ds to fit do you?
It would be something to to see a"narrowed" DS.
At present no one makes such a kit.
I have been able run in wider woods trails..fourth gear wide open the Ds suspension works great on trails.
once you are used to the machine & you dial in the shocks you will love it for trail riding.

DS650DAVE,
A narrow ds? That would be something to see huh? Well with the Subtraction of width, it would make the height of the Ds higher then normal. How would they solve that problem of it sitting to high? Wow, I really wonder what it would be like to ride my ds about 6 inches narrower. That would feel weird. Anyways, does nayone have the TIMMYBOY aarms for the ds as of yet? if so how are they compared to stock aarms?

I know that the ds sits a little bit higher then the avg fourwheeler, look at the magazine pictures, its a bit higher then the 400ex and about the same as a raptor, not saying its a bad thing, because the width makes up for it, but if you had thinner aarms it would be alot more tipsey, probably something like a raptor. No i havent seen a ds with Timmy Boy's
