has anybody tried a 2 stage system yet? how much of a combined shot did you use?what kind of compression did you use? did you get a chance to dyno it?

My boss put together a two stage system on his BRP 1000 sled. The first stage is 30hp and the 2nd is 60. He's probably right in there in terms of horsepower - He keeps right up with the Turbo BD GT25 Apex sleds.

 

Marky is it possible on a ds? say a 15 shot then a 25 shot. how is it timed? Be cool to be able to tune for a launch that doesnt overpower the bike then have it hit harder up the hill. How does it work?

Yes its possible. Its basically two systems in one smart box. The primary system would have a 15hp shot, then the secondary system would have an additional 10hp. So, from a smart box perspective, it could be built. It would also mean two Micro Fuel managers (one for each shot) being fed by a single electric fuel pump. Thats no problem either.

Timing? Well thats up to you. How my boss does it is that he has two toggle switches, one for 30hp and the other for 60. Both are on and he gets 60hp. We dont have any electronics that can time the second stage.

It would be a totally custom install, something that would have to be done in Pleasant Grove UT - Coming to Sand Mountain Utah any time soon?

we are trying this with a nos setup now. two 20 horse stages.timing is pulled out with nitrous activation.i was just wondering if the boss system is less parts and easier to tune so we can get a little more aggresive on the nitrous. it dynoed well and will get its first run at the sand this weekend. if you have any info on your setup marky id love to check it out

 

I suppose my set up would work for activation, Use the throttle switch for launch and the bar switch for the additional shot. How long would it take to work out if I came to ds days early? Would it be possible with my current system by adding another manifold and solinoid?

how many solenoids in that basic system there choose? or is it your next motor getting the 2nd stage?are you goning to have that monster ready for ds days?
