Accelerator Pump on TM45
The pump is supposed to remove the low end bog correct? What happenes when you wick the throttle? I know if I stabbed my carb quickly it will almost bog down to the point where it stalls. Installing the accelerator pump will remove this problem? Input needed and thanks in advance.

TheBigshow man I swear I spend more money and time wrenching than I do riding. I've just been really busy. A few events have made it really hard to ride. Trying to get this Stage III running perfect.
Wayne where exactly is this start and stop time for adjustment?
I haven't ridden it with the pump because it rained and I don't want to tear up all the grass in the yard but from sitting there it seems to continue to bog. Seems to start a little easier too.

Entomber - According to Elliot, you are supposed to roll into the throttle as opposed to stabbing it. This bog occurs only at 1500 rpm or less. After that, it is not an issue. He says that 99% of racers opt to leave the accelerator pump off because it somehow causes a rich condition after 5000 rpm.

If you trail ride that 1500 rpm bog can be an issue at times. Again I haven't taken it out for a hard spin yet (maybe tomorrow or day after) but feels somewhat the same. I have ridden a DS once in Indiana with the pump and 15t front sprocket. Man that DS was really, really responsive. I have yet to ride one like that. It wanted to yank yer arms out. I had trouble riding it because it had a twist but boy that sucker had some kick to it.

Dave, you want the #50. The pump adjustments are on the side the cable is on, there is a little screw on top,( you need a tiny screwdriver) that I believe is the pump stop and the pump start is a screw with a spring on it it would be on the back of the carb, in conjuction with messing with that you may want to try different pilot jets. you can also try turning your pilot air screw.. You can also try aiming your pump jet right at the needle or just to the right of it and see if that makes a difference.
Good luck.
