Default 00 DS, leaking carb

I have slow drip out the bottom of my carb, NOT the overflow, the drain screw seems to be seeping past. I removed it and inspected it, it looked good. Is there suposed to be an oring on it? Or just the taper to seal it?

I think that is were my husbands was leaking (if he was here I would ask and make sure.) He got a new needle and it quit leaking I hope that is all it is for you guys to. Cheap fix. I do know that it only leaked at an idle also. Was fine when he was riding and if he reved it up it would stop. I do know why but for some reason I can't explain it correctly. Sorry. ( I guess you can call me a girl on this one.)

I also leak out of the carb..out the bottom even after a float set....i just used a little hose with a plug in the end and put it over there. Mine only leaks at idle also...when the engine is revving its using more gas and there then isnt enough gas in the bowl to come out the drain hole..i guess?

that is why but when I was typing it, it sounded stupid so I didn't put it down. But my husband bought a jet kit and it had a new needle in it and ever since he replaced that it doesn't leak. Worth a try. they are cheap.

My wife tried to answer earlier but this is what I did. After setting the float several times and still leaking, I removed the bowl and pushed up the floats and gas was leaking from around the bushing that the float needle goes into. I pulled it out and found a bad o-ring, changed o-ring and no more leak. Hope this helps.

Ever since I jetted out my carb, it leaks at the bottom too. I might have to check out that o-ring
