Checking in- it's been a while
#1
Have not been on for a while..........On May 8th, my son's 6th Birthday we were told by the doctor that they are concerned he has Muscular Dystrophy. He definitely has something that is causing weakness in his muscles, especially his legs and hips. He does not run/jump/etc like boys his age do.
We have a initial visit set up for July 20th at Childrens Hospital. The wait of over 2 months is killing us. Wife is really taking it hard.
So, I am tending to the family and will check in once in a while.
Miss all my friends on here!

CPaul, You certainly have my condolences my friend.
Before I tell a small portion of this story, I want to say that before this, I had the utmost confidence and faith in the medical field. I thought they could move mountains.....read on....
We know all too well what your going through. We went through the same situation with my 2yr old. They diagnosed her with Muscular Dystrophy when she was only 6 months old. She didnt learn to sit, stand or walk until she was much older than normal kids. (The doctors said she would never be able to walk and would be confined to a wheelchair). We were totally devastated. Words cannot express the feelings we felt. But, my wife brought her up for prayer at a Youth Rally at our church. My wife brought her back to the Neurologist 1 month later for a checkup and she could not believe her eyes. My daughter was crawling, walking, standing and responding on her own like there wasnt a thing in the world wrong with her. This lady ,who had been studying this field for over 30 yrs, could not believe her eyes and had to bring the other women in the office in to see my daughters progress. Well, more tests were run and miraculously, she done something that she had not done in her career....said my daughter was healed. She couldnt explain it. She was speechless. She told my wife that she would no longer need to see my daughter ever again and took her off the list of Muscular Dystrophy patients.
CPaul, I said all that to say this. Keep the faith, prayer changes things. HE CAN DO ALL THINGS. My prayers will certainly be with you and your family. Just remember, all things work together for good. Even though you or your wife might not see the good right now..there is always light on the other side of the tunnel.
Sincerly,
Scott Bennett

Hey Chuck, very sorry to hear this news, you and your family will be in our prayers. I hope it is a misdiagnosis and that all turns out well. You have a great support group here at the Bomb forum so please keep us updated.
I noticed you haven't updated your signature, still on the hunt for a six pack rack huh?
Good luck Brother and tell your wife and son that we are thinking of them.

Thanks guys, my family and I appreciate the thoughts and prayers.
Scott, I know what you are saying but that is tough to do now. Many have told us keep the faith and do not question why. Going through this first hand, I am sure you know what I mean.
Hearing about your daughter does help, that is great! I will PM you with some questions.
Thanks, Chuck
PS Vic, your are right, I will fix the signature........the rack looks and works great.

This is what life is all about my friend. If it was easy, we would all be spooled brats,
I know you dont understand why. This was our biggest question. Why us in the middle of this great big universe. But as I said, EVERYTHING happens for a reason.
Keep your head held high and just know you have a huge family on this forum who is pulling with you in this trial.

Really hate to hear this bro. When it comes to children it really hits my soft spot. I so far am very lucky to have 2 healthy children. I won't even try to explain how I would feel, so I will only say that I really hope the best for you and your family. I wish there were something that I could do that would end your hurt, but only god can do that. We are here for you bro. I am sure we will all be here to support ya. Your child will be in my prayers along with thanking god for mine. Take care and we will understand if we don't see ya on here as much. RUSS

Cpaul,
Sorry to here about your son. I check in this forum often and it is nice to see that you can come here for more than just DS problems and posts. I will keep your son and your family in my families prayers.
