Default Double Pulling?

Hey guys, i need some advice. I have a few dollars and was trying to decide if I want to trade in my Jeep and use some extra money to get a truck, then buy a cheap camper for the back of the truck, or if I should keep the jeep and buy a fairly nice camp trailer. If I go with the camper I will be pulling it with a durango, and would have to double pull in order to take the quads. I have heard from one source that if you have an equalizer hitch then double pulling is not a big deal. I have heard from others that they would never double pull. Has anyone had experiences with double pulling? Thanks in advance for the replies.

Heck Cory, you ought to try and get a smaller toy hauler. Then you dont have to pull doubles.

As for pulling doubles. Its not bad, but I wouldnt want to do it behind a small vehicle. I used full size trucks, and when i had the short bed, it pulled me around pretty good.

i dont think you can pull a trailer behind a trailer legally in most states but you can pull a trailer behind a 5th wheel. Atleast thats my understanding and from what i've seen i've never need a trailer being towed behind a trailer.

One thing that I do know is that it is not legal to pull doubles in all states and if they are a**es about it they will make you drop one. (Idaho is one of them)
But this would be up to you. I do know you run out of room really fast in a cab over. Trust me I know. I hope this helps.

Don't plan on double pulling if you do any riding in Cali.... double pulling is not legal here. Other wise just look at your GVWR... don't plan on pulling more than your recomended. I don't know what it is on the Durango, but I'm guessing its around 7,000 (I could be wrong) figure a flatbed for the quads weighs 1200, plus at least a couple quads at 400-500 each, and your looking at 2200+. That does not leave a lot of room for the campling trailer... but it depends on what you are looking at. If you are just looking at a pop up trailer, or a very small travel trailer then your good. You will have to keep it pretty small though. I like to leave a little room so that you still have some decent pulling power... If you max it out it will be slow going. Good luck

Default Double Pulling?

Some states require a CDL to pull doubles even on personal equipment.
