Default Can I jump my 2014 Honda Recon 250cc???

I have a 2014 Honda Recon and I want to hit some small jumps like 8-10 foot tabletops and some little doubles. Would that be ok on a my quad??? Or would it damage my quad somehow???

Welcome to the forums.

Can you? Simple answer is yes, but it will not be good for the shaft drive and the suspension. Little jumps would be ok, but if you're looking to get air like the sport quads do, a sport quad is what you would need.

Honda Recons are pretty sturdy. Friend's oldest son had one that is still running (barely) but it was abused by the oldest son, the next oldest son, the youngest son, my son, and a bunch of their buddies. It's not pretty but I'm amazed it still goes. This is the oldest brother, middle brother, and my son jumping a table top. Longest jump was about 24' or so. One Polaris Sportsman, one Honda Recon, and one Polaris ATP.

Yes, tabletops and small doubles are ok. Reconstruction don't have the suspension for getting crazy, but if you are landing right and not getting to high should be fine. If you are bottoming the suspension, then that was to much.

My advice, go small to start with. A Recon doesn't have a lot of suspension travel. I'll agree they're tough little machines, I had one once. I don't recall ever getting much air with it though. A few small jumps maybe getting a foot or 2 off the ground. The irs quads have a lot more suspension travel and can soak up jumps better.

One other thought. When you jump, get up off the seat and stand on the pegs. You can influence the quad more if you're not sitting.

Sitting when you land is a good way to get hurt. Get off the seat, a little bend in the knees and waist to absorb the landing. Rear tires touch down slightly before the fronts also makes for a better landing in most cases.

Default I have no problem jumping my 2002 recon

So you should have no trouble make jumps on your, but you should put bigger tires on it so it has more power to the ground and clearence

Bigger tires won't give you more power but it will give a little higher top speed. 2" taller tires will give you 1" more clearance which may come in handy.
