What do you mean by "new cylinders"? Cylinder usually means the piston cylinder, or jug, and the DS only has 1. I haven't heard of another part reffered to as the cylinder(s) but maybe I'm just brain farting here. If the dealer did replace your cylinder (jug) and nothing else it should have run the same as it did before he replaced it. I have a feeling you are reffering to something different here, however. What was actually done to your bike? Was it a performance upgrade or a replacement of broken factory parts?

ah here we go again! booleg is a she but fatholly is a he. I would have thought the opposite. anyway , why has noone mentined timing? if your timing is very retarded fuel will still be buring as its going out the pipe. has anything been done that might have changed your timing? a good backfire can shear the flywheel key on alot of motors. what about cam timing? could the chain have jumped a tooth? that could do it to. lean could make the pipe turn red but the bike would run so crappy if it was that lean that you wouldnt even want to ride it.

Well bootleg I don't think we could actually tell you what the problem with your bike is until you tell us what has been done to your bike and has it been doing this only after you had it in the shop so we need some more info to get to the bottom of this.

im kind of having this same problem. every since i took my cams out to replace to the piston it seems a little down on power. like from 6-8 grand it revs slower than it did before i put a high compression piston in. i dont think i am running lean though, i checked the plugs and they were a blackish brown color... do you guys think i could have messed up my timing a little bit when i put the cams back in and it that this would cause the lack of power and overheating issues?
