air fuel screw HELP!!!
#1
guys i just got done doing some tuning to the stock carb and i can not move my air fuel screw. it is totally siezed up. the screw is pretty much stripped out for unscrewing it. i can get it to tighten about a 1/12th of a turn but it will not come out. it is so frozen. since i can not tighten it i am assuming that it is set all the way in. i am running a little lean. i have an hmf, hi comp piston, uni filter and a ported intake because i planned on the tm45 but have not got the money for it yet. i run a mikuni 172.5 main and a 45 pilot. needle is set in the 5th groove from the top. it seems a little lean. the base of the plug is golden brown but hte tip of the electrode is looking a little grey. ANYWAY.....any tips on getting the air fuel screw out???? any tips would be appreciated. thanks.

Cant help ya on the seized screw, but if the carb seems to be workin fine I would'nt worry too much. I would assume that the screw would be set to where it was before you noticed it would'nt move. If I remember right, if the screw is almost all the way in then it would be giving you more fuel at low end. If for some god forsaken reason that you cannot get it goin right, then I could bring my stock carb with me to silver lake and you could use it while your there. Don't let the carb keep ya from comin. RUSS

Oh ya as far as plug reading. Alot of people miss read there plugs. I have a link that I can send ya for reading plugs if you give me your email add. But a white electrode does not mean lean, neither does a light gray ground strap, not tryin to say your not lean because it could be.
