Default engines mods

Im going to be repairing the engine in my 04 baja x. I was wondering if i put an oversized cam in is there anything else i need to do to the engine.

If you do just cams, you need to make sure you have enough valve clearance. You might not clear the stock piston. I would guess to say if you stay with a mild cam, you will be fine. Make sure you do something with your valve springs though. Depending on the cam choice, you will either need dual rates, or shim unders. And of course if I was in there, I would just bump the compression while your at it. Both of them together makes for a nice little combo.
