How about those that line up with you, drop the hammer for a second just to send you on your way by yourself, then when you come back they give you that smirk.......yeah there are a lot of Jacka$$es that ride these things, that is for sure. But you take the bad with the good!

I know what you mean about the attitude at the race hill. Most of the guys I race with are pretty nice..........the only problems I have had have been with Banshee guys who don't like fast 4-strokes.

Regarding thugs? They better kill me[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] Anyone who chooses to solve a disagreement with me through violence and leaves me alive will not see financial security for the rest of their life. I won't fight anyone and I will take their best shot in front of witnesses. Yeah Ron that 7000 RPM launch works doesnt it?You just flew off the line the last run you did up the hill on my Baja.I will agree that generally i dont have problems with most that i line up with but it does not take but a few to make for a bad day.Earlier that same day was when i encountered a Banshee rider that i had raced on another trip that would not line up with me.If i remember we were running even so i dont know what his problem was.I have seen so many changes over the years in this sport most of which are good but the race hill is getting dangerous at times with erratic unskilled driving and bad attitudes .As for me and violence if i am forced to i can end a situation pretty fast but only as a last resort to protect me or mine and that is as much as i think i need to say.

 

How about when you roll up to a group of "drag racers" who are just gathered around the "macho guy" of the bunch listening to him tell of how much hp his bike is making, what he does for porting, cams, blah, blah, blah, like he is the fastest on the planet.

Then, you are the "new" guy at the hill/dunes and it comes time for you to line up with this "macho guy"....well, you blow his doors off and all of a sudden something is wrong with his bike, excuses, excuses...he disappears....[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]....only if he knew he just got beat by a stock bike, [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img]

 

Scott that one i have seen many times.A few weeks ago yfzfryguy(Tony) was aboard a stroker Honda that is probably the fastest four stroke that i have ever seen run and he was racing a 4 mil banshee and beat him and suddenly the guy "lost second gear" and could not continue.This kind of behavior is harmless but it is not something to be proud of.I have made runs up the hill and lost and then let the guy that beat me take my DS up the hill afterwards (Ron) its all good as they say.The incident that i initially talked about with the two grown men yelling at each other was what made me want to post about this kind of behavior.The worst part was that there were quite a few young kids watching,what an example to set.

 

Mike, I really love dune racing more than I like racing on an official track. Its just something about lining up with about 10 other bikes and running all at one time.

"So you think you are the fastest?"......Well I know I'm not the fastest, but is sure is fun lining up with others, and beating some. To those you loose to, its fun trying to figure out ways of beating them, it may be as simple as picking a better line up the hill. All in all I really enjoy talking to those who hands down beat me, and learning what they have done to get there.
