The measurement at the carb should be the same as whatever carb you are running... make sure there is no lip and that it flows smooth between carb and intake. The head side is really just cleaned up.

i shouldnt say dont do it cause i really dont know you or your skill level on this

with that being said....alot of people have tried/gone this route and messed them up

some people put alot of time and energy making these things right...dyno'd and all that good stuff..

what they find...and i am not the authority on this but have been here for a while and read the many attempts

if not done perfectly you can actually reduced hp and make things worse..something with back pressure and stealing hp....they cost only 75 or 150 or so depending on which you want so why would he even attemp it..plus if you cant dyno how could you sleep wondering if you did it right!

let the pro's do it

also once you mess it up you will buying one anyway..save the headache...just my 2 cents

Makes sense. I was going to let a budy of mine which is a machinest do it and let him look at it and see what he could do. Didn't know it was that fussy. Thanks for the input. It probly save me alot of head ache like you said!!!!

I would say that it all depends on what you want out of it. If you are on a tight budget, and want HP, then go straight to the pros. Then you are not going to waste any money. They have done all the research, and you will know exactly what you are getting.

If you are the type that likes to tinker with stuff. You can buy a used one and play around with it. If you enjoy that stuff.

I bought a used one. I had all the tools I needed, so I played around with it. Tell you the truth I have not even installed it, so I don't know if I did good or bad. But it gave me something different to do one afternoon. Some people can **** away $40 at the casino in the name of fun, I spent it on a used intake.

you can find instructions on the net step 1 - finish. if you follow each step carefully with a light hand and to remember to just clean up the castings and match ports to gaskets you can do it, or spend 3-5$ hundred & have it done. i'm paying to have mine done because they allready have them done and its just an exchange.
