Anyone know anything about Southern Colorado-San Luis?

I just bought 5 acres on the outskirts of San Luis, CO. I have never been there but can see it from sattelite pictures. It is close to Alamossa. At 7,500 ft, it would be a nightmare for this Florida boy to live year round. I see mountains surrounding it. It is 90 miles North of Taos.
Does anyone ride down there?

I think, try to stay warm.
I got it for $8,900. I figured my ATV and everything I put into it is about that and after this season I will probably have a couple $$ more into it for repairs and what-not. So, now I will always own this land. In the summer it is beautiful.

Yer right, in the summer it's great, not rubbing elbows with a lot of people that's for sure. Lot of history in that area, especially Spain.
In the winter, with that wind, better have your longjohns on. Not all that much snow, but it's a cold wind.
Southern Colorado is great country! Not that far from the 4 corners area. Great riding in the hills in any direction but north if I remember right. I like it south because Denver is far away.
