ALBA PIPE FOR DS650???
#1
i was on alba's web site and saw they have a pipe kit that comes with the k&n filter and jet kit for $399.has anyone tried it or know anyone who has?iv already got the RW pipe,RW no limit rev box,k&n filter, jetting and a 15 tooth sprocket.im really pleased with it but just wandering how alba compared to RW.also, how good is the RW pipe compared to the others? im kind of new to the DS650 and dont really know what the best products are for it yet.iv only had it for three weeks and really havent gotten to ride alot due to weather and work.iv been riding a banshee and i still have it.but i also wanted something i could control a little better.im pushing about 50 hp on the shee and let me tell you, when you hit the throttle you better hang on or you will be on your back.i say this from experiance.i didnt know the front tires were off the ground until i felt grass poking me in the back.i just wanted something a little more predictable.thanks.

cdracing, I'm not sure I can notice any significant PEAK power increase with any of the mods I've tried. What have you done to "measure" the increase in PEAK HP? What I have tried is running to top speed in deep soft sand and seeing if I can attain a higher speed than stock. I'm not sure that I could, so I concluded I wasn't really gaining peak HP.

I sure noticed a difference in my machine alot maore on the bottom end than on the top end but still noticable up there to the dyno chart from my mods shows a 12.5 hp gain on the low end right were you need the biggest boost anyway and a 3.5 to 4 gain on the top end. Go to the dynojet web site at www.dynojet.com they have a locator system that will find the closest dyno shop to you. what an extra $25 to $50 fo a dyno run on top of what you already spent to see what you really got
My machine is a 2000 ds from the first produce run and it had a problem with bogging and coughing when land off big jump. wich was a really pain when I was racing, I found out that on the 2001 models they changed the slide spring in the carb and put a longer brass cup around the main jet. I ordered the parts and install them it made a big difference. I'll find those part #s and post them for anyone that wants to try it. It was around $20 for parts and shipping.
