Default Got my 800 today!!

Left for Los Angeles last night, arrived about 1am, got a hotel room for a few hours then picked up my Outlander 800 at 11 AM this morning. I got it at Whittier Fun Center in Whittier CA(near Pasedena) for $8399 OTD. Got home around 6:30 and got a bit of seat time. First thing I did was removed the racks. I'd like to find a few round BRP stickers to cover the holes, anyone have any ideas??

First impressions? Well as much of an impression you can get riding up and down a residential street:

I called my Outlander 330 the R2D2 of ATV's, all kinds of sounds coming from it, whirls, knocks, squeeks etc......the 800 is no different LOL.

Shifter is better but still a bit sticky.

Acceleration was awsome, I could burn the tires while still moving slowly. Got stuck in a sand pile on a vacant lot, didn't have any momentum going into it. I mean buried it LOL.

Havent read the manual but the speedo is only in KM's for now, have to switch, I believe my 330 was the same from the factory. OK, manual says factory setting is in miles and to contact dealer to change it??

Same squeeky brakes as my 330.

Fires right up on que, my 330 could be a challenge at times.

Someone must have spilled oil on it when they prepped it for me as there was some burning oil on the exhaust near the front, worried me at first, I let it burn off then degreased the entire engine, washed it down then rode it up and down the street quite a bit, got it up to about 55, let it sit and didn't notice any smell or additional oil anywhere. Probably just someone being sloppy.

The differences from my 330: Gas cap on other side, speedo is a bit different, security feature, metal as opposed to plastic racks.

Raider, congrats on the new outty. I'm gonna be gettin mine(another one) in the next week or two. You got a great price. Here in Mi, the best i'm going to get is 9300 otd. that's a lot better than the first one i paid for.
had the same prob with the metric speedo and the dealer told me to bring it back in so they can hook it up to the computer to change it. yea right, just bring it back in, like it's no big deal. i'll make sure they have it right on the next one.
shifter will loosen up after a little ride time.
breaks will stop sqeakin after a little ride time too.
Mine smelled like crazy for the first few miles till all the oil and grease that coats all metal while shipping gets burned off. it'll be fine.
how long to take the racks off? i considered the same to reduce weight, but i can't believe they weigh all that much.
you'll be able to do much better than 55mph too. a few guys i work with say that after your break in period, you'll gain some speed as things get settled in. and then you'll gain some more after about the 20hr mark. 82-83 is about what i'm being told. another guy added a pipe and some jet mods and got it runnin like a raped ape, but doesn't run at low idel for crap because of it.
have fun.

There is a place in Ohio that has MSRP out the door on their ATV's, check it out on E-bay.

The racks only took a few minutes, I did it for weight and asthetics, probably going to put on skid plates so hoping thats a wash as far as weight go, they don't way all that much.

It's my understanding there is a chip that won't allow you to go WOT for about the first ten hours or so, I think this is when people realize a gain in power.

How did you friend add jet mods to the EFI?

82 huh? Yikes! LOL, well after a year on my Rincon, I divided the hours used by total miles and I've averaged 12 MPH over the past year. WTF do I need an 800 for? ) Same reason a dog licks it's ***** huh?

Good luck on your next purchase!

Raider, the mod i was told about is an electronic module mod much like the tuneable computer modules for autos. Dobeck is one and it lists for about 230(i think). i've heard of another for other quads, i think its a Trinity. I've never seen it or used it, but to my understanding it lets you tune fuel mixture and the amount.(thats a pretty crappy explanation, so check out the web sight). oh yea, lets see some pics of the new ride! see ya.
