According to the BRP website, the DS650 comes in at 494 pounds.
According to the Polaris website, the Outlaw comes in at 425 pounds.

Difference is 69 pounds... big difference on a sport quad. >>>>>>>

Thats the weight on the Baja, the standard DS650 comes in about 35 lbs lighter.

That is the Baja model, the std model that is mainly what you see in the real world is 470lbs. The baja is the delux model with several nice extra's.

If we were sitting around a campfire discussing our different quads and Bryce rode up on his Trailblazer, he would be welcomed to pull up a chair. However, after 15 or 20 minutes of his 'techno babble', I believe he would either be just plain ignored or politely asked to take his Trailblazer and blaze a trail.

bryce i have a deal for you, go buy you a sp700 and we can meet up somewhere and i will bring my outty 650 and we will see how close the power is. you know like what it says on paper........then when i walk the dog on the sp700 you can tell me how much that the stats were wrong. i would almost be inclined to say bring the "760" if you would like. where are you from anyway bryce? i think that i might be headed to florida with a couple guys from cowtown in a couple weeks to deliver some more can ams to the unfortunate people in florida who have deep pockets and no dealer. i am tired of seeing the techno babble bryce get out go somewhere and see what they do against each other.they all will trail ride. they all will do the basic work. your specs are getting you no where. explain to me this. if the poo's are so close in power why do the can ams out run them so bad? if i'm not mistaken, a drag race is about power and weight i mean thats how it has always worked. big motor light chassis? the poo doesnt weigh enough too blame it all on weight. when we are takin the 500 outty and racing the 700 poo in 800ft drag race and the 500 is pulling the 700 back in and winning by 1 1/2 to 2 lenghts that puts your specs in the dirt. i also like how that polaris is calling their tires the "PCT"....... a rip off of the carlile a.c.t, kinda like the ducks unlimited. oh wait they also have their pure polaris pipes that are white bro. e-series with a different sticker. argue somemore specs i know its comming. when you move away frome the has been trailblazers and get a ute and have some realworld experience then you might be considered as a worthy source. i'm sure that im not the only one that feels this way.

I agree, you can rattle off all the stats you like but if you have no real world experience, just be quiet. I have nothing against Polaris but they are just not in the same ballpark as the Can-ams. So to say they have similar power -- well your smokin something!! Unlike some people on this forum, I have driven most makes of quads and can say from a power standpoint, the only make that can come close to the 650 and 800 Can am is the Kawi V twins. The popo isn't even close.

HMMMM Properly Clutched i really can't see that the poo700 would be that far off.. Its just the engineers at polaris happen to be the worst at clutching a mochine. maybe we have a crazy anomoly of a 700.. using terms like ballpark leads one to believe there is some huge differnce.. there aint

Well to bring something up just seems strang to me but when you can-am guys compare the outlander 800 to the pop 800 you use the weight being the popo is a pig, but when you bring up the ds weight compared to the outlaw it is no big deal. It is just fine the ds weight 30 or so lbs or more. I am usderstanding more now. An last time I went to a dealer an looked at quad I have yet to see one being sold new as a drag racer with slicks. I will say the Can-am have strong motor an a great clutching. But I have great clutching in my TB an mods to make it run in an area it is not made for an it worked an won. This tread is like banging your head ona wall your bleeding an the wall is fine. But to make you Can -am guy feel better you own the greatest built quad an there will never be one better in any way shape or fourm. Have a nice day an be safe out there.
