Default curious ?

in the yamaha forum a guy wasn't able to get spark so someone suggested that he had once took his rectifier and disconnected it so then he replaced the stator not the rectifier...The guy with the raptor did unplug the rectifier and it worked but wouldn't that mean the rectifier is bad...If someone can clear this up with me and explain it that would be great thanks

Thats what i though they are all confused in that thread I think because while the atv is running the rectifier sends signals to tell the magneto how fast to turn and that gives the atv power electrically correct kinda like an alternator on a car

The rectifier is like a voltage regulator on a car. It kills voltage. The stator serves the purpose on an atv that an alternator serves on a car.
