Baja Winning DS 650

Right on bajarow, you are also one of my heros, congrats to your team on the win this year(I still can't beleive you got Dean off of his Banshee and on a fourstroke!). And couldn't agree more on the bomb, It is a great desert quad. How do you like the bandits? Are they heavy? I put 22"realtors on my '90 Banshee and didn't care for the extra weight.

Bajarow, The question is'nt whether the DS will go faster than the Raptor or an any other atv. The question is, will the DS travel at 100 mph with a stock engine. Was the DS you rode stock (engine wise)? If so, you were NOT traveling at a 100 mph. On paper you can you can make an atv go 150 mph or 175 mph. Is it realistic without adding extra power? Of course not. Good to hear from a racer (assuming you are who you post you are). Congratulations on the Baja race.

Gary is there anywhere that you can get a quad up to 100mph in WV? Have been through WV in a truck and everywhere i went it was trees, out here in the west there are oportunities everywhere to ride at these speeds if you have a mind too, could prove to be a mans demise if not experienced in this type of riding. I lived in NE NV for 13 years and there are fire roads galore there and if you know where you are you can acheive these speeds easily. We have a bowl at the dunes here in idaho that you can get top speed out of your machine, whatever it is, but you better be hanging on when you go through the tight side of it because the g's are outrageous! If you would like I can send you a pic of a dune that you can climb to the top and turn out shift in to your top gear and hit the rev limiter before your halfway to the bottom! You have to ride in the desert and BIG dunes to know what we are talking about.

Ha Ha...yes there are places to get to 100mph on an atv...but it's illegal . Seriously though, while trail riding, I max out the stock gearing on my Raptor several times every ride in some large, wide-open spaces. I plan on finding some dunes next summer on vacation, and can't wait. Next time throough WV, contact me beforehand, and we will get into some riding. If you don't mind, send me the dune pics. Thanks!

Sorry if i offended you Gary I meant that what i seen was all trees. This was from a semi rig and I have only been there once, hopefully never again in a truck, vacation would be alright though! I sent the pics and wish I had one on disk of the bowl i'm speaking of because it's awesome too. If you come out to Idaho let me know I'll give you the tour of my favorite dunes!later.
