Default finding TDC on compression stroke..

i know how to find TDC.. but how do you make sure its on the compression stroke and not exaust? i had some head work done on my warrior and i think they overtrightened the valves had new valve seals put in .. i want to make sure that its on the right stroke before i decide for sure if they did.. but we checked them on two different stroke and both intake and exaust seem tight by my feeler gauges.. is there any reason the machanic might of done this other then over confidence or to lazy to grab a feeler gauge and do it right ? i did run it for about 20 min before checking them though.. maybe they tightened up on there own ?

Default finding TDC on compression stroke..

Turn engine over and watch the intake valves open and then close. There are two marks on the cam gear you can line up. They should be parallel with the top of the head. There is also a little window on the side of the block that has a couple marks you can line up. If you watch the valves like I said you can rock the engine and feel the top of the stroke. All four valve for this cylinder will be closed and in position for adjustment. Later! Frank
