Need a good answer

I am thinking of a new 800 outlander. All I here is about top speed. I want to know about about low end torque and how it climbs hills. Very rarely get in top speed races I want strong low end and powerful mid range. So help me out please. I am also looking at the grizzly, kingquad, and polaris

I would give serious consideration to the 650 or even the 500 as there is about a $700 bump between each model. It seems like the biggest difference betwen them and the 800 is top speed and off the line acceleration. If you read any of the tests or posts here it seems that there are no complaints about torque or power.

I herd there wasnt much difference in the 650 and 800 down low. I have a 500 vinson right now and a raptor 700. I want a big bore efi utility and just cant make my mind up. I am going to sell or trade in the vinson. We ride mostly trails and want more power than the vinson.

the 800 has a ton of power down low and all the way through the 650 compared to the 800 is more of like a slow take off then it picks up a ton of power in mid range so if you want power you'll regret not getting the 800 but the best thing is to ride both and take ur pick

the 650 has plenty of low end. it will hang with an 800 off the line it just wont yank the tires as high as an 800. i bought a 650 because of the hill climb factor of it. the 800 can get scary with an accidental bump of the throttle and tip on the back wheels. it will climb, but you have too be more carefull because of the torque. in reality ask yourself the question of how much bike do i really need. if you were getting rid of your vinson and your raptor i would say buy an 800, if your going to keep your rappy, a 500 would even do great. imo the 500 is an awesome trail bike. its injected, vtwin, has enough grunt to work it and still get out and run 65-70 and wont overpower a hill climb. if they would have made it when i bought my 650 i would have one of those.

Some people say I don't need 800 cc, never use it. Well, on a steep rocky trail, I use every one of those 40 horses, going pretty slow too, the bike has to lift itself and me over every one of those rocks, hundreds of times on just one ride.
In fact, I will be putting a dobeck Gen III and an exhaust pretty soon for more power. Maybe also an oxygen sensor to tune it good for different elevations and conditions, they're expensive though.
If you're riding mostly flats or mtn trails without too much rock, the 650 is more than adequate. I've only raced it a couple of times, drag races, I won but not by much.
The std Outy is faster because the XT package weighs about 70 lbs, but only a little bit quicker, not much. I've used the XT package winch a lot. The tires that come with the XT package are good ones, put about 1800 miles on mine, could have put a lot more.
The 650 and 800's are strong from the line on out to the end.
Be sure and ride all of them, you'll pick the Outy.
