Outlander CV boot
#1
I have had my outlander 650 for about a year now and have torn my second boot on the rear. I have 2 questions. 1. Is there anything i can put on to protect the boot from the back. I think that is where i am getting the holes. I dont have a skid plate and wonder if that would help at all. And 2 how hard is it to change the boots. I am mechanically inclined and don't mind getting my hands dirty, but i also know there are times to let the professionals do it. Any help would be appreciated.

i think you could be getting rocks in around your axle and cutting it. one of my buddys had that problem. i have had my 650 since the 2nd week they were out and havnt had this bad luck yet....hopefully i dont. to change the boot you have to pull the trailing arm off to get the axle out. they have a "special" socket for this....if you seen the socket you could prolly come up with something that would work. get that thing changed quick b/c axles and labor arnt cheap. our dealer here only charges 55 an hour and for full service, axle and install labor it cost my buddy 550.
