1st ride on my renegade

The first thing you notice when sitting on it is that it appears to be much smaller/ sporter than the outlander. handlebars seem to position different, in a more usable way. smaller oblong multi readout speedo is a nice touch. gone is the rubber strap holding down the battery. in its place is a automotive type fastener.about 3 hrs riding on the dunes i came away with the conclusion that this ride is a lot better for the person interested in a combo sports/ utility quad. welll actually it is the only one made at this time. handleing is much improved i didnt have a problem sticking the left wheel and doing a 360 pivot. shocks and suspension is more for the racer type rider, being some what stiffer for getting air, which wasnt a problem, the hole shot tires are more suited for track and trail riding. i will be putting on my haulers before the next ride. of course power is not a problem. a great addition to the can-am line for those who are into sports type riding but still want the versitility of a 4x4. love it..

I have put about five hours on mine and I have never owned an outlander. I have what seems like a clunking sound coming from drive shaft when I let off the gas and nail it. I don't know if I should be worried about it or not? Also kind of the same sound going over ruff sand fast, maybe more of a rattle. Anything like that with yours? Is it just the way the drivetrain sounds on these 800's?

The clutch weights have been changed on the renegade, sounds like maybe thats what it is, the sheaves and weights fly out to engage that will make a clunk. I wouldnt worry to much. just keep a check on it to see if it gets worse, also call the dealer and ask them.

I'm having him do the pistons larger valves and cams with intake and exhaust. Supossed to put the hp in the 80's.should pick up the performance some what.
