This makes me feel better. I get about 10 mpg pulling my toyhauler with the Cummins. I thought it should do better than that........but maybe that is normal....

Mine has plenty of miles on it but I am also pulling right at 10k. If you only have a couple thousand miles, I would expect your miliage to get better until about 20k miles then it should level off. That has been my experience.
3 more years and I am due for a new truck! ............................long time to wait, lol.

Try this one for size. On that trip to FSW Dumont, on the way home, I got a whopping 5.9 on one certain part of the trip. We figured I was pushing a 30mph head wind and tried to keep her at a solid 75. Now thats pulling my trailer loaded. So around 15-16,000 lbs.
When pulling my equipment, I get usually in the 7-8 range. 36-38,000lbs total. The best this new truck has got was about 10 pulling my big trailer. Our 05' gets consistantly about 1-2 mpg better than the 07'!
My 04 Chevy on one trip to Moab, pulling the Jeep in the enclosed trailer, got 13mpg!! Thats the best any truck of mine has done pulling. It usually got in the 11-12 range pulling up to about 10,000lbs. I averaged about 15-16 at 80 on the freeway.
My 02' ford was the pig of Diesels. I never pulled enough weight to know what it really would do pulling, but it averaged about 14 empty. Every diesel before and after that has got consistantly better mileage. This new truck is giving it a run for the money though. Just averaging 15mpg empty at 75.

How much are you expecting the 35"s to effect your mileage? I run 35"s but every time I calculate my mileage based on my odometer, I add about 10% because that is about how far off my speedo is with these tires. Another way to look at it, this truck has had 35"s since new so when the odometer says 80k, I really have almost 90k on the truck.
