better to be safe than sorry, have it checked, doesnt hurt to take it in, adjust the vavles, get new plugs, have them check compression, etc. You'll feel a lot better and with all good to go it will run better. Just be careful with oil, u go bad with oil, u go bad with the crank, u go bad with ur top end power, then u'll have a bad motor!! why do u think my DS is under construction lol

i used amsoil 10/40 semi synthetic. do any of you guys know anubody thats good with these bike and is cheap lol in the so cal area.
i called berts and they are pretty expensive. my neighbor just got his honda recon 250 and they charged him 1700 to change out the piston and rings so im not looking at taking it to the stealer.

In my opinion the amsoil is the problem. I tried that oil before and had the same results. There's nothing wrong with your motor. The wet clutch and combined tranny/crankcase is hard on oil.
Now I run valvoline 4-stroke motor oil 20W50.

I highly doubt Amsoil is the problem. Ive been using it in EVERYTHING i own for years, with a 14yr old ATV, and everything is spotless inside. I actually think Amsoil is a good choice.
