BS. If there was ANY oil that caused problems like that, it would not sell. Amsoil sells MILLIONS of dollars of oil. Try a different excuse.

When I ran synthetic factory oil in my DS it was very thin and seemed to get black quickly. Its probably the synthetic and the low 10w thin *** oil. I use the 4 stroke valvoline oil now and it seems to not break down so fast.

i also think its the oil beacuse i seriously doubt its the bike beacuse i take very good care of it for 1 and it got less than 40 hrs on it ive only taken it out like 7 times since i bought it in 2003 and the previous owner was retired 65 year old man that put less that 5 hrs on it.

Synthetic oil takes LONGER to break down, thats why they have extended drain intervals. My Grandpa was the head mechanic at Lupient Oldmobile for over 40yrs. He uses Amsoil, and knows what he is talking about. Its not Amsoil. I doubt ANY oil will break down that fast.

what if it had some gas in it i once hydro locked my ds and drained out the gas from the piston and then i changed the oil thats the one thats black now maybe there was some traces of gas left in there that made it wear down quicker.

but either way im doing a compression check checking the valves and doing fresh oil and filter and plugs.

60 hours on a motor...
Is that approx 1500 to 1800 miles on the machine?
When did you start using synthetic oil in the machine?
Does anyone know what the break-in time or in miles?
I was under the impression that, before using synthetic oil, the motor should be broken in first using, standard petrolium oil, to let all the moving parts seat in!

well i changed the oil filter and spark plugs its running pretty good but right now im looking for a cheap mech to do my valves adjustment its hard when your a broke college kid. i also checked crankcase breather hose and its bone dry not a drop of oil in there so i guess the piston ok but either way im going to do a valve adjustment job on it before i take it out again.
