how do u take off the chain

Remove the counter the sprocket. Impact wrench works the best if you dont have one use a big socket and long handled breaker bar. Put it in gear and also have someone step on the rear brake.

Don't worry about loosening too much... the carrier doesn't have any stops.. if you go too far it will just start to tighten the other way. Find the mid point and you should be able to get the chain off. If you can't get that done, just cut her off and get you a new chain... here's some step by step instructions
Step 1: 6 pack of your favorite beer.
Step 2: Drink 5 of them, give the other to your meathead buddy who came with no hooch.
Step 3: Set up your grinder with your favorite cutting wheel.
Step 4: GOGGLES!!!!! Trust me, rusting steel in you eye don't feel too good
Step 5: Apply grinder to chain, cutting between two links
Step 6: Watch the pretty sparks
Step 7: Stop half way through when you realize the sparks were shooting on your open gas can
Step 8: Resume cutting after kicking the gas can to the other side of the garage
Step 9: B!tch at your buddy for: a. not bringing more beer, and b. not telling you about the gas can
Step 10: You've done enough for today; leave your tools spread out all over the garage and call it a day. You can get that sprocket off tomorrow... you don't want to over work yourself.
