My Raptor Conversion launches hard off the line and is actually quick.......but it still weighs under 450 lbs and is geared low with 14 paddle 25"s.

If you set these up right they can be really quick.........not just fast.

Tpsycho - 160 hp even in a 600 lb quad will be an eye opener at the least. I recommend sitting down and thinking through all the new personal safety policies that you can think of when riding this beast. The extra speed you will carry with this new ride will change everything.....especially how large an area you need clear in front of you before you nail it....

I have just gone through this transition and have had some close calls. 80 mph feels like nothing on these things but emergency maneuvers are really off the table if something unexpected happens.....

Well, good luck and be safe.

Thanks for the information I always wear full gear when riding. I will take it out and see how it handles and how long it takes to shut it down at high speeds and see if it does anything weird before I race it.

Thanks Travis.

Travis, its sad, but its true. There will always be somebody out there who has a little deeper pockets than you or me.

Therefore, you will always be outran when you meet up with the right guy/gal....but it will be at a much faster pace that you were on the DS.

You are definantly rite about the deeper pockets but I guess it will always give me something to shoot for. If I race a Alchohol banshee I will have to race him best out of ten I figure by then it will blow up or run out of Alchohol.

Richard,
you might be more than a little surprised to see a Gixxer 1000 light up the tires and get out the hole, I have never been beaten out of the hole by any drag banshee YET! I have been passed on the hill but I have been their equal or better off the line. I also know who not to line up against there were a few of those at Banshee wars, but they are an elite group of draggers and not your run of the mill alcohol burner.

Tpsycho, If you are asking if you will be in the upper 2% I would say it depends on where you ride and the date. if its thanksgiving at olds hill in glamis I would say NO! upper 10%? yes . so figure if 1000 bikes show up at the hill for a holiday weekend you will be able to outrun baybe 975 of them . even my turbo bike will loose . its alot easier to get 225lbs rolling and up to speed than it is 500lbs. all I can say is you will beat most of them but not all. the guy with the most money will win. I personally am just not willing to blow 40K on a bike I have to rebuild every trip. I want to ride mine . I will say this though , thanksgiving at china wall?? you are number 1 dude! the pickups that haul the nasty alky banshees to the race hill would get stuck before they got that far out in the dunes. LOL . dont worry , you will haul serious AZZ. wait and see.
