DS DAYS

I like the St. A's idea for DS Days as well, it is the ultimate playground ....period! For folks that have never been you simply don't know what your missing. Thunder is an ok race hill but is not the place for the big bikes to shine
there is choke cherry where you can stretch your legs a little. The best thing about St. A's are the huge dunes, massive bowls and the fact that you can actually open it up and get into high gear while dunning, it is a rush!!

Devils dune is also a good place to race. After you go down into the dip, I think it is about a 600 foot climb to the top isn't it?

Well I guess it is settled then. No ds days in the lower midwest. So I guess I will never attend a ds days. I dont make that kind of money to drive 1000 + miles. I will just stick to going to the places that I go and hang out with the people I care to hangout with. I dont mean to sound like a stick in the mud, but it seems like no one is really wanting a lower midwest ds days except for a few. There are no big dunes or bowls around here to ride. The biggest dune in Little Sahara, OK is at best 100 feet. I wouldnt have minded putting some faces with some names though, but oh well.
Anyway good luck planning.

I am a little concerned about taking my Raptor 1000 out there. When cruising, it uses much less fuel than my single cylinder bikes but WOT it uses about twice as much.............or so it seems.
When is the next Flatlander trip to the big dunes?

This is also true. The worst thing about Devils Dune is to do it justice you suck a ton of fuel, lol. Since it is at the farthest point from camp a guy has to really be on top of his fuel. I think it is about 7 to 8 miles from there back to BLM.

I am sure that if you started a dedicated thread and promoted it there would be a good response and it would be a huge success.

amd, is it not possible to piggyback with someone? Split the cost of fuel and lodging? My son and I did that with a friend of ours to make last years up at Sand Mountain UT a possibility. Worked out well for both parties involded and it was well worth the trip.
Met some of the finest folks you'll ever know. But my take on it all is that whenever you have a group of 3 or 4 DS's (or more) together then it's always DS days. Much camaraderie to be shared amoung this community.
