DS DAYS

I'd be willing to travel to Idaho just to experience the shear awe of the massive dunes there.
Heck, it would be nice just to get away and not be under-the-gun for a weekend of racing.

This is also true. The worst thing about Devils Dune is to do it justice you suck a ton of fuel, lol. Since it is at the farthest point from camp a guy has to really be on top of his fuel. I think it is about 7 to 8 miles from there back to BLM.
I am a little concerned about taking my Raptor 1000 out there. When cruising, it uses much less fuel than my single cylinder bikes but WOT it uses about twice as much.............or so it seems.
When is the next Flatlander trip to the big dunes?

lol, this is true. I would, however, recommend rigorous tie-rod inspections before you do an 80+mph pass around devils dune, lol.
Devils dune is also a good place to race. After you go down into the dip, I think it is about a 600 foot climb to the top isn't it?

I like the St. A's idea for DS Days as well, it is the ultimate playground ....period! For folks that have never been you simply don't know what your missing. Thunder is an ok race hill but is not the place for the big bikes to shine
there is choke cherry where you can stretch your legs a little. The best thing about St. A's are the huge dunes, massive bowls and the fact that you can actually open it up and get into high gear while dunning, it is a rush!!

It turns out I won't be able to go when Tony goes. My dad who lives in Singapore will be in the States at that time. I don't want to pass that up....even for riding.

Of course all is well! I am really lucky to have the friends I have. Unfortunatly, the new things I have going on probably dont have much in common with my friends in the past. Those that know me know what I mean. I am so lucky ... to be where I am now. Life is truley amazing. You never really know where its going to take you.
Nate - Its all good - No more late night rides for me!
Richard - Its good to see your posts - HA! I know you better than that!
Cynick - Thanks for the trust - I'll never forget the kids face!
Mark - Thank you for the respect.
Jed - It was a great ride - sometimes things simply change. Its all good.
DSnut - Come on man, give me a big kiss - you know you want it! LOL
Major - I made it back, keys and everything. Getting ready to go to The House. Thanks for being the example you were.

Lets get this thread back on track.
Who's interested in a Central or Midwest DS Days. Headworks, Little Sahara, St. Joe, etc.
What are your thoughts?
Any suggestions?
Thanks

I knew you were out there somewhere, Marky. Glad things are going well.
I think you Midwest guys should all rent a 20 passenger yellow bus, cover up the "School Bus" signs and split the cost of the trip. You could probably get the cost down to about $150 bucks a head and you would get to see the reason those of us out west don't really want to go to Oklahoma to ride up and down sand mounds.
My theory is, if you can walk up it, it isn't tall enough
Actually, the more I think about it, this idea has some merit. You guys could take turns pretending to be a bus driver as you swing by forum member's homes and pick them up.
Y'all would be out to Idaho in no time!
