Default Wood 9 cam/shim gap setting issues.

Just need to clarify and get a little input from those that have run high performance cams. I picked up a set of Wood 9's from a trusted forum member and installed them last night. I'm used to the .004-.006 specs on the stock gap and when I installed these and torqued everything down the intake was.007 and exhaust was .009.
Paperwork didn't come with so I just want to get a warm fuzzy from those that have run them or something similar and see what range I am safe to operate in.
If this info helps in your advice the bike is running a 11.5:1 CP piston, Big Gun CDI, and a Big Gun Race series full exhaust. Or will be anyway. I haven't cranked it with the new piston yet. A couple of hours away still...

Vic, to tell you the truth, I like even more gap. I try to set all my motors up around .010 to .012. Makes me feel a little better with more gap. I can tell you that we are looking for .006 and .008 minimum on our BIGGEST custom cams. Obviously the cams we're using are huge lift-long duration cams in combination with 13:1 - 15:1 pistons.

I'm sure you are fine, but wanted you to see the other end of the spectrum.

Ace - Just got your pm, didn't see the thread.

I think it is ok. I am looking for .009 on intake and .012 on Exhaust usually but I think you are in the zone of acceptability. I would check your clearance now and then.

It could have been a lot worse
