Hello all,

I just bought a 2006 Max XT 400 and after about 5 hours of riding, I noticed when I brake hard with the hand brake, I get a grinding noise from the front end. It almost sounds like gears grindning. I know it is a front end issue, because I dont have any problem when using the foot break. Any thoughts?

UPDATE:
Apparently even the slightes moisture causes a horrible rubbing noise on the fromt brake rotors.

 

I have an 04 400XT same thing. Tried burning them in as someone else suggested but it didn't last long.

 

Hello i have the 06 outty max 800. When backing off the trailer it does the same noise. Nothing to worry about just pads to rotor noise.

 

Any updates on the front end noises and anyting else gone wrong with your bombs ?
