We do ride dunes mostly but not always wide open. The dunes out here are alot more than that. Yes you can ride like that sometimes but not everywere. We also ride on some trails though they may not be as tight at yours they are more technical than some of the dunes. By the way there are alot of whoops in the dunes.

To me it is amazing that people can do it on a motorcylce and not on a quad, but that is just my opinion. If you know how to ride with a twist throttle on than you know how to control it just as well as you can control a thumb throttle. But it does take some getting use to if you have used one before.

Put one on if you don't like it take it back off and re-sell it. Good luck with your choice.

 

If anyone has a twist for a TM45 that they just can't tolerate anymore I would be more than happy to relieve you of it. I bought a RWR TM45 twist throttle cable from a forum member and it doesn't fit in the Motion Pro that I have sitting in the garage. Thought they were interchangable, different styles, models, I guess...
My thumb is still sore today from a Glamis trip last weekend. 130 miles in two days will do that to you I suppose. If anybody might know the malfunction with my twist assy and cable, i can compare the tow to your ideas.

 

When you go off of jumps with twist you can sometimes accidently "punch it" a lot easier than thumb

 

Most of my riding is fireroads and tight wooded trails, only 10% dune riding.
