i use the Klotz 10-40 100% synthetic.my dealer talked to Bombardier about it and they said they were going to reprint the manual and recomend the synthetic.has anyone had problems with their clutches slipping using the synthetic oil? i just had mine changed for the 1st time yesterday and havent gotten to ride it yet so i cant say for myself.i assume this is good oil,it should be at $7.50 a quart.on the back of the bottle it recomends to change every 4000 miles or once a year.so it must be great oil to be able to work that long.

I run amsoil 100% synthetic in all my machines and have never had a problem. I think when a manufacturer says dont use a synthetic oil they should really say we want to sell you a machine every 3 years.

Bombardier's engineers wanted us to run Castrol 20/50 motor oil for the Baja.We did lose a clutch after 1000 miles but I think that had to do with how hard we rode it for 3 weekends before the race.

Kragen Auto to be exact. Racing is so hard on the clutch, the only clutch problem before the 2000 incident I've had was synthetic oil related. The oil is too slick for the fibers and seems to glaze them.

If the DS650 clutch can't handle proven synthetic oil for wet clutches, then the clutch is garbage and should be replaced with an aftermarket clutch, so the rest of the engine can be protected by running the synthetic.
