I doubt they would do that, but there will be someone like Dobech, or one of his dealers that will come up with a decent aftermarket program for it. Those things are cheap now, and one of the best ways to mod out an EFI quad.

Wow I was really close to picking up a Kawi 450, guess I will hold out another month and at least see what the can-am has to offer. And the big question what does the dealer expect me to offer to put it in my garage. The Kawi 450 was 7300-7500 starting and almost 8000 otd. 1 month ago. Hate to say it but I bet the can am is tough to touch for under 8500 otd around here. When I can pick up a 450R or YFZ450 for under 7000 otd I don't know if its worth it. The Kawi 450 has reverse and EFI, but for 1 grand I don't know if that is even worth it. Esp when its not a proven quad yet. The Honda and Yamaha's are pretty bulletproof.

rldbobcat.... I'm sure these things will be going for $8000+, but you have to remember that when the YFZ's And 450R's first came out they were getting ridiculous prices for those as well. Two of my buddies had some of the very first YFZ's (within the first month of release) and both paid $8000 otd. YFZ's have come down significantly since then. Same basic idea goes for the Honda, Zuk, and probably Kawi???? I bet they will eventually stabilize at around $7000 otd. Its a sport quad after all.... to me that means bare bones, only the necessities.... that has to keep the cost a little lower.

As for the holdout.... if you're not die hard Can-Am you might as well look at something on the floor now... I bet we won't see the DS450efi on the floor for another 6 months.

I would never fit on any 450 but I am still very interested in seeing one on the floor. Lets hope Can-Am really steps up on this thing. Hopefully we see an updated DS650 soon.... (800cc perhaps)

Dont think so Holly, if they do keep the 650 they might go EFI but I dont see a change when they are selling there 800 EFI General Purpose quad, But I agree with you if they could revamp the 650 to 380.lbs weight with the EFI that quad would get an extra 10 or more HP and the handling would greatly improve! just in stock form not counting what would happen for the hill shooters!

This may be news to some of you, but the DS-650 is done. Cancelled. End of an era. There will be no 2008 DS-650s. Its future is uncertain. If you want one, better find one quick. There is no quad anything like it. It is a cadillac desert sled, and I will be sorry to see it go. There will probably, eventually, be a replacement that is all the things we wished the DS was,,,lighter,,,efi,,but I am keeping my '04 Baja X,with original aluminum upper a-arms,,probably forever.
Out with the old, and in with the new. Will the DS-450 be the fast desert cruiser that the DS-650 was? or just another hot rod MX 450 with a hard seat and a harsh ride? I'm too old for that kind of punk ride.

I am hoping for a good XC woods racing machine. They have done a lot for duners. Time for some tight woods action!

Heard the same from my dealer just last week. . . I don't know. . . makes you wonder. . . the Raptor 700 is selling like crazy and BRP is cancelling their quad? Obviously, they are behind in a re-work on it. . .
