Default bent my buds frame on the renegade.

He does not believe me but i was going into a creek and hit a rock at about 8-10 mph. i was trying to get the front up to clear the 6-8 inch rock and didnt make it. i had the susp. compressed at the time sisce i just landed and it had skid plates on the front where it hit and bent. he has insurance lucky for me. it bent the front about .5 inches to the side. what is up with the frames. I have hit worse stuff faster than this on the king and ds with out any issues. the frame sucks on this bike and i am a die hard can am fan. dont butcher me and say i am not telling the truth about what happened because i know what happened. no renegade for me untill they get this addressed. if the frame was as good as the bike it would be a realy good ride for the riding we go do.

What kind of skids did he have on the front the factory spar support leaves a lot to be desired or did he have the ricochet's because I have beat the crap out of mine with the ricochet's and mine is still straight as an arrow. Sorry to hear that about your friends bike though certainly is a bummer. Hopefully they get it fixed up and back on the trail soon.

he had to rics for the 800 outlander and they kind of fit. When they sent the new ones for the renegade and we went to change them out is when we discovered the bent to crap frame. are these frames realy that easy to bend or did i hit it just right. I am in the hunt for the 525 outlaw or the renegade for a new ride and this sways me over to the outlaw. been riding for many years and this has never happened on anything else ii have rode.

When you refer to bending frames are you talking about the frame or the lightweight aluminum floorboard supports? That aren't really part of the frame.

That was my frame, that no riding fool bent!!!

AS for frame protection, I had the ricochet mid and rear skid plates and stock front bash plate. AS for going 8-10 mph, I think he's lying because at the time we were riding pretty quick on a nasty rocky trail, more like 15-20 mph. My buddy claims that his DS will loft the front end while the shocks are being compressed. I have been riding quite a long time and I also own a DS (best big bore ever.) and I have to tell you in that situation, not even the mighty DS will loft the front end and I blame it on rider experience. P.S. I hope your working on your golf game.

The other thing is the center spar will get dented and banged up if you hit rocks with it no different than any other frame would that hits large rocks. I'd like to see what you mean by the frame bending.

I think people get the wrong idea about hearing stories of bent frames. Just because the aluminum floorboard supports getting tweaked from hitting trail obstacles. When I hear of bent frames I'm picturing the center spar being bent.
