Hey guys, I am trying to get the darn Piston off. I have her tron all the way down. I have some little pic tools I was told would work best. But the problem is I cannot get the little clip thing to budge. Any ideas, ot am I missing something still???

 

There should be a small divot where the end of the clip rest. Some small needle nose pliers will work. If you have some dental picks or some jewelers screwdrivers to pry an end up and then grab it with the pliers it helps. The clip rest in a slot so try and turn (rotate) it with your pic tools to where an end is in that divot.

 

Since we're at the topic, how in the heck do you get the new clips back in? Much stiffer than the old ones. After the piston was in I had a hell of a time with the last clip, finally had to bend it alittle to get it in. Any hot tips?

 

Ensure that one end is seated in the groove, then work it down and in the rest of the way around, making sure to keep ahold of the opposite end during this procedure. Safety glasses are a good idea while doing this, damn thing likes to jump up outta there and there is no predicting where it will go. Good idea to have a young un with better hearing than your own to try and locate where it lands after it's glorious launch.

 

Be sure to cover crankcase opening to prevent it from falling into it!!!!![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] And all the other things they said.

 

Let me just add that the glasses (any sort) are a good idea, Taking mine out, I took the clip to the forehead....Wow that thing comes out with a kick!!! Took 30mins to find also.....Oh well, I have that part back togeather.....And most of the motor done. Should have her finished by tonight....
