Default 2008 Outty weight gain

Did anyone notice the weight of the outlanders is up 18lbs for the std and Max models for 2008????

Does anyome konw where the weight gain came from???

even the gade is up 10lbs, but that could be from all the hardwear for the extra brake

man why is the gade so heavy???? they should really put some of the ds450 parts on it, use a lot more aluminum and chomoly, or even titanium (but titanium would be expensive)

Some is that they now have steel rims instead of aluminum. Plus I bet there some renforcement inside the frame. The Ren gained 10lbs, but the extra brake doesn't come close to that. So I bet frame is stronger on the inside, so it won't look like they changed it. But part numbers are different from last year for the frame.

why would they move to steel rims? aluminum too expensive? man they should NOT go the polaris way and sacrifice performance and weight for price
