Oil filter

Default Oil filter

Trying to do the first oil change and i cant find the oil filter on this damn thing could someone tell me where it is? Thanks in advance

Default Oil filter

If your sitting on the bike look down on the right side , behind the heat sheild there you will see a round cover about 2 1/2 inches across held in place by 2 allen head scews. Thats the cover for the oil filter. When removing the cover be gentle , there is an o-ring around the pirimiter of this cover.

Default Oil filter

it is not a conventional oil filter like on car engines. it does not have its own metal case. the filter is inside the motor. the manual shows where the cover is. if you do;t have the manual it is availible for download from the brp site.

Default Oil filter

be careful when you do pull the cover off, as oil will flow all over your engine...have a few rags placed under the cover to catch the drips.
