data cable for clearing codes on outlander
#1
At my dealer, they have a laptop with some program on it, i didnt get a look at what it was called, and they have a cable that plugs into the port in the front cover. Is it possible as a consumer to find that cable and software somewhere out in cyberspace so I can clear and read codes myself instead of going to the stealer every time? Thanks!!

The adapter is a B.U.D.S. I think that stands for Bombardier Utility Diagnostics System and that same system used to clear codes also is the same one that allows you to program a D.E.S.S. key so they don't make them available because of that mainly not to say it isn't partially just a job security thing.

your dealer should clear your computer for you for free. my dealer told me to go ahead with all my maintenance myself. there to busy with water crafts this time of year. so all maintenance was done and just took it to them to clear the annoying maintenance soon memo. no charge
