I don't believe it, it has been 30 years since the canadian dollar was par with the US. The Canadain dollar closed yesterday at $1.01 compared to the US dollar.
I remember doing trips down to St. A's when we were losing 40 cents compared to the US greenback. Everything is still cheaper in the US for Canadians as well. I am going to have to start making a bunch more trip for ATV parts and everything else.

 

A year ago I was going to buy a new 400 Suzuki eiger in Sault Michigan,I live in Sault Ont. Canada right across the river. After tax and exchange it was $6500 TOTAL. In Canada a new Eiger was $7300 PUS TAXES. With the exchange as it is now you can get a new American ATV for less than than a used one in Canada.

A person just posted he bought a used 03 Sportsman 500 with 350 miles for $3700 in the States. I bought a used 01 SP500 with the same milage last year in Canada for $5500! Its just crazy.

At the border they will hit you with a $280 service fee with a new American bike,than you need a mechanical (Canadian tire does it for $70) after that you pay only provincial tax and your good to go. The US dealer will charge no taxes at all if your Canadain.
